Williamson, Inc. members will learn what’s on the horizon for the Nashville Entrepreneur Center at the June 16 membership luncheon, held at the Embassy Suites Nashville South/Cool Springs, 820 Crescent Centre Drive in Franklin. Stuart McWhorter, a prominent, long-time investor who took the reigns as CEO of the startup nonprofit on April 9, will share his vision for the Nashville Entrepreneur Center and the entrepreneurial environment in the Middle Tennessee region.

McWhorter has more than two decades of experience in entrepreneurship and early stage investing. He is a founding member of Brentwood venture capital firm Clayton Associates, which focuses on investing in health care and technology industries and manages five venture capital funds that have invested more than $150 million in more than 80 operating companies in the Southeast. Prior to joining Clayton Associates, McWhorter held leadership roles with OrthoLink, Tenet Healthcare-owned Brookwood Medical Center and Medical Reimbursements of America.

McWhorter serves on the board of directors for FirstBank of Tennessee, 247 Sports Media, Haven Behavioral Healthcare, MedEquities Healthcare REIT, JumpStart Foundry and Lee Company. He received a master’s degree in health administration from The University of Alabama-Birmingham and a B.S. in management from Clemson University.

As the self-proclaimed “front door for entrepreneurs,” the Nashville Entrepreneur Center serves as an incubator for entrepreneurs seeking to launch their startup business by providing access to funding, resources and connections. The flagship facility opened in August 2010.

The entire community is invited to McWhorter’s talk, which is presented by Williamson Medical Center. Registration and networking begins at 11 a.m., and the lunch and program starts at 11:30 a.m. The cost to attend is $35 for Chamber members and $55 for guests. Register online by June 12 to receive a list of attendees.
