WILLIAMSON, INC. NAMED RECIPIENT OF COMMUNICATIONS EXCELLENCE AWARD
Williamson County Mobility Week selected for Grand Award from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives
FRANKLIN, Tenn.— Williamson, Inc., the chamber of commerce and office of economic development for Williamson County, has been named a winner of an industry award that recognizes communications and marketing work. Presented annually by Alexandria, Va.-based Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), the Communications Excellence awards program is designed to celebrate exceptional work in the areas of advertising and marketing, campaigns, digital and publications.
Williamson, Inc. received a Grand Award for Williamson County Mobility Week, its solutions-oriented transportation initiative, held in September of 2016, that explored practical ways to reduce traffic congestion on Middle Tennessee’s roadways.
“We are extremely honored to be recognized by ACCE as a Grand Award winner among some of the best chambers of commerce in the country,” said Williamson, Inc. President and CEO Matt Largen. “This is a deserving award for our communications director, Charlane Oliver, and the entire team for the outstanding work they contributed to our first-ever Williamson County Mobility Week. The initiative continues to have a lasting impact on the business community as an overall strategy to solving transportation issues in the region.”
A panel of six marketing and communications leaders from chambers of commerce in Arkansas, Louisiana, Manitoba, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin evaluated more than 100 award submissions and selected top entries to receive recognition.
See the list of awardees here.
Award-winning entries represent the work of 41 organizations in 23 U.S. states and the Cayman Islands. Of the 49 award-winning entries in 2017, 12 are recognized as Grand Award winners and 37 are recognized as Award of Excellence winners. Three Best in Show awards will be announced at a special event Tuesday, July 18 in Nashville, Tennessee during the 2017 ACCE National Convention.
These entries highlight some of the freshest and most innovative marketing and communications work coming from ACCE member organizations of all types and sizes.
Each submission was organized by type — advertising and marketing, campaigns, digital and publications — and by the submitting organization’s total annual budget range: under $1 million, $1 to $3 million and above $3 million.
“Communicating effectively is vital for chambers of commerce and grabbing attention is becoming increasingly challenging. This year’s award-winning entries represent work that’s not only effective, but incredibly creative and innovative,” said Ben Wills, director of communications and marketing for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. “Communications professionals at chambers of commerce work tirelessly to promote their members, businesses in the community they serve, and the unique characteristics that make their state or region a top place to live, work and play.”
This year’s competition attracted entries from chambers of commerce in the United States and the Cayman Islands.
