Local manufacturers aim to introduce students to modern day manufacturing careers with plant tours
Williamson, Inc. Economic Development and Williamson County Schools will celebrate National Manufacturing Day by taking students from several middle and high schools in the county, where students are already studying engineering or advanced manufacturing, on facility tours at Flash Technology, Horn USA, and APCOM.
All are helping to celebrate National Manufacturing Day, a coordinated effort to change the public’s perception about today’s manufacturing environment and draw attention to the opportunities that a career in manufacturing can provide.
Williamson, Inc. Economic Development is coordinating all-day facility tours at three of the participating companies, APCOM, Flash Technology and Horn USA. Students will observe demos and simulations, operate state-of-the-art robotics equipment and receive giveaways. Tours begin at 9:30 a.m. and will last an hour.
Media is invited to join the 11:00 a.m. student tour at Flash Technology (332 Nichol Mill Ln, Franklin, TN 37067) on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018.
