The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Greater Tennessee Chapter awarded Skanska USA with the General Contractor of the Year award during the 2018 Excellence in Construction Awards held at the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville.
“Our team has put in a tremendous number of hours of hard work and dedication into ensuring exceptional results for our customers and the city of Nashville,” said Skanska General Manager and Executive Vice President Dennis Georgatos. “It is an honor to be recognized by the ABC community and to win such a distinguished award.”
During 2018, Skanska’s Nashville team completed the renovation of the historic Cordell Hull State Office Building, which houses the Tennessee General Assembly, as well as construction of the new headquarters for LifeWay Christian Resources, and the JW Marriott Hotel in downtown Nashville. Construction of the Fifth + Broadway mixed-used development is underway in downtown Nashville and is slated for completion in 2020.
In addition to winning the chapter’s highest award, the team won project awards for the Cordell Hull State Office Building renovation and the LifeWay headquarters construction. The projects won the ABC chapter’s first place Eagle Awards in their project size divisions for the historical restoration/renovation and commercial categories, respectively.
