A company that produces orthopedic and medical devices will move its U.S. headquarters to Franklin.
Medacta USA will invest $2.5 million and create roughly 50 jobs over the next five years, according to a release from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.
The company, relocating from Chicago, will open its new headquarters and a research and development lab in Bowers Park, at 6640 Carothers Parkway.
Founded in 1999, Medacta specializes in “the design and production of innovative orthopedic products and the development of accompanying surgical techniques,” the release says.
“Everyone at Medacta USA is thrilled to call Franklin our new home. The Greater Nashville area combines a deep talent pool in the health care and tech space with close proximity to some of the world’s best orthopedic researchers and practitioners at leading medical institutions,” said Medacta USA General Manager Matthew Goudy.
“The quality of life for our team members, along with Nashville’s accessibility, made this an easy decision. We are grateful for the community’s warm welcome and look forward to becoming an active and visible member of it.”
