BrightStone’s 15th Annual “Music That Touches the Heart” Widely Acclaimed as a Moving and Inspiring Evening

FRANKLIN, TN — BrightStone’s 15th Annual “Music That Touches the Heart” benefit in Liberty Hall at the Factory at Franklin, featured Ricky Skaggs, who performed along with several other award winning songwriters.

BrightStone would like to thank the hundreds of community members who came in support of this important occasion. With Harry Chapman serving as emcee and introducing performers such as Michael Card, Jason Coleman, Meagan Anderson, Gordon Kennedy, Brady Seals, Paul Jefferson, and Ricky Skaggs, one audience member reflected, “the evening felt just like a show at the Grand Ole Opry”.

“We are so grateful to the dedicated volunteers and staff, the gifted artists, and our generous sponsors, Regg Swanson, Don and Beth Stinnett, STAR Physical Therapy, and Lorraine Ferrell,” stated Brenda Hauk, BrightStone’s Executive Director. “The evening could not have been possible without the teamwork of our wonderful hardworking volunteers, the donations from businesses, and the loving dedication from our community.”

This year’s benefit raised over $90,000 to be used to help adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities throughout Middle Tennessee to have a post-secondary environment where they can receive job training and life enhancing opportunities.

All proceeds benefit the adults who attend BrightStone and live each day with intellectual and developmental challenges. BrightStone’s mission is to provide a comprehensive work, social support, and future residential community for adults with special needs, expanding their potential and helping them develop mentally, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
