For over 30 years, the Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCPR) has provided the citizens of our county with leisure, health, and wellness services. The department continues to grow and now manages 34 properties throughout the county.  These include full-service recreation centers in the county’s five largest towns: Franklin, Brentwood, Fairview, Spring Hill and Nolensville.  Our most recent additions, the Enrichment Center at Academy Park and the Academy Park Performing Arts Center, provide a new level of community spaces and programming in central Franklin.

WCPR also operates Timberland Park, a rustic, outdoor park on the historic Natchez Trace Parkway.  Thousands of visitors stop in annually to visit the park’s interpretive center and hike the trails.

The department manages three indoor pools and four seasonal outdoor pools, a Splash Park, two indoor soccer arenas, an indoor tennis center, several community centers and numerous playing fields throughout the county.

Since its inception, WCPR has prided itself in offering affordable rates for all citizens. We do not have any memberships, and everyone is welcome to use our facilities and attend our classes and events.  The standard general admission rate is $2 for seniors and $4 for adults.

Our major recreation centers offer a combination of gymnasiums, racquetball courts, tennis courts, walking tracks, wellness centers with state-of-the-art equipment, group fitness classes, aqua fitness, senior fitness, and a variety of other special interest classes for adults and children.  WCPR’s summer activities include two full-time day camps, Camp Will for persons with disabilities, and over 250 camps and classes for kids ages 3-15.

Each year, WCPR presents a number of community events, including Touch-a-Truck, Spooks and Coupes, Easter Egg Hunts, Half-Pint Triathlon, arts and crafts show, car show, Star Bright Children’s Theatre productions, dance recitals, Williamson County Community Band and Community Chorus performances, Breakfast and Storytime with Santa, Mother-Son and Father-Daughter dances.

Williamson County Parks and Recreation continues to respond to the county’s growth, and is committed to providing the very best leisure facilities and activities. All county residents are encouraged to visit our facilities and learn more about the variety of classes and options offered by the department.
