Leadership After Dark and Capstar Bank Offer New Interactive Board Training

This April, Leadership After Dark in partnership with Capstar Bank, is opening up their unique interactive board training to our community.

Ellyn Jansen and Deb Macfarlan Enright, two local award winning nonprofit/social impact board members and sector consultants, have joined to provide a dive deep training into the extraordinary opportunity board membership offers all of us who serve – or hope to serve – our amazing nonprofit/social impact organizations.

They founded Leadership After Dark to serve the individual seeking to serve as a leader in the community, the companies and corporations that generously provide the resources of time, talent, and treasure to our community, and the nonprofit/social impact organizations that are determined to make our community and the world better.

If you have yet to serve on a board, this opportunity is for you.

If you are serving on a board now, but had hoped for a better experience with greater impact, this opportunity is for you.

If you lead a nonprofit/social impact, this opportunity is perfect for a new (or maybe an existing) board members who need an engaging onboarding experience.

Over two Saturday mornings in April, we will prepare you (or your associates/friends/fellow board members) to actively engage as a board member from day one. Our learning objectives include:

· working knowledge of the breadth of Board responsibilities

· familiarity of operating document and tools

· understanding of operational, programmatic, and funding expectations

· understanding how the use of your expertise and experience in board service will increase the capacity of the organization to deliver the mission

· understanding of how to assess a nonprofit social impact organization’s effectiveness in delivering the mission

Participants will engage in conversations with current nonprofit/social impact organization Founders and Executive Directors as well as Board Chairs to better understand how wonderful the experience can be working with individuals who are driven to make the world better. Participants will learn how to seat a board to best leverage the knowledge and skill sets necessary to best support a nonprofit/social impact organization and its staff. And yes, we will look through bylaws, 990s, and strategic plans to help participants truly understand how best to serve as a board member from day one.

We will supply all of the coffee you need, breakfast, and snacks to keep energy levels up so all of us enjoy this interactive learning opportunity.

We will meet in the Power Room of the Williamson. Inc Offices 4031 Aspen Grove Drive in Franklin.

Seating is limited. Early Bird Registration is open now through 3/22.
