Puckett’s in Liepers Fork to host concert for Habitat Williamson-Maury’s 25th Anniversary
This year Habitat for Humanity of Williamson-Maury (HFHWM) celebrates 25 years of helping local families building strength, stability, and self-reliance through safe, affordable housing. In celebration of this milestone, the Puckett’s in Leipers Fork invites the community to attend a special concert on Saturday, October 6 at their restaurant and performance space at 4142 Old Hillsboro Rd, Franklin, TN 37064. Puckett’s is generously donating all event proceeds to HFHWM to support their home-building mission.
The concert starts at 8pm and features local bands The Gracemans and 4142. Attendees can enjoy dinner before the music by making a reservation with Puckett’s at 615.794.1308. Cover charge for the concert is $10 per person.
HFHWM was fully incorporated as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International on December 5, 1992. Since then the nonprofit has built 250 homes in Williamson and Maury Counties alongside families with low to moderate incomes and who qualify for the program.
“Right here in our community, there are families who live in housing that is overcrowded, riddled with mold, infested with pests, and/or lacking central heat and air,” explains HFHWM Director of Housing and Community Development Wayne Weaver. “No matter how hard they work, they still have trouble making ends meet. It is a vicious cycle with little opportunity for escape, and Habitat is one of the few organizations in the area that can help our neighbors. ”
HFHWM builds and sells 10- 12 new homes per year. Construction and neighborhood development is funded through tax-deductible financial contributions, in-kind donations, and profits from the affiliate’s ReStore at 1725 Columbia Ave. HFHWM does not receive funding from Habitat for Humanity International and counts on local philanthropy and volunteers to serve those in need in our community. Completed homes are sold to qualifying applicants with a tailored, affordable mortgage. Before purchasing a home, “partner families” must complete an extensive homebuyer’s education program and earn at least 200 hours of “sweat equity” by working on their future home and the homes of others.
“Affordable shelter plays a critical role in helping people create a new cycle, one filled with possibilities and progress, and we have been blessed to help local families do just that for 25 years,” explains HFHWM Executive Director Becket Moore. “We have hundreds of success stories that all lead back to the hand up Habitat has provided. We want to thank Puckett’s of Leipers Fork for hosting this great event and hope you will join us on October 6, as we celebrate our anniversary and raise funds for future homes.”

After a thorough qualification process, applicants are selected based on three criteria: the need for affordable housing, the ability to pay the mortgage, and the willingness to partner. Completed homes are SOLD with an affordable, zero-interest mortgage to the families, helping build the strength, stability, and independence to build a better life.
