ProHealth Rural Health Services

ProHealth Community Health Center located at 1325 W. Main Street, will be hosting their first annual fundraiser, called “Tour De Franklin”; this event will be held on October 2017. This event will consist of numerous cyclists that will be traveling from various locations, and ride various routes that will be clearly marked, as well as having fully-stocked rest stops along the way, in conjunction of having annual health screenings and sports physicals.

The reason for this event is to bring awareness of Hepatitis C to the community, as well as inform and educate our community of the signs, and treatments available for Hepatitis C. Currently they have more than 200 Hepatitis C patients in their database that are not receiving treatment. The funds will be applied towards their uninsured and under-insured patients that need financial assistance for treatment and medications.

Hepatitis C is more common than most people know ad the rate of acute Hepatitis C cases in Tennessee has more than tripled in the last seven years, and the steadily increasing number of cases may only represent “the tip of the iceberg” of the states’ Hepatitis C epidemic.

ProHealth Rural Health Services is in need of volunteers for the October 2017 event. All volunteers need to contact Ms. Jane White at janewhite55@gmail.com.
