Meet the Author and Dine for a Cause

On September 28th from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.Granite City Food & Brewery will be hosting Sheila Preston Fitzgerald the author of One Foot in Heaven a novel based on a tragic near-death accident that turns triumphant and even joy-filled. While several years of tremendous pain, multiple surgeries, daily physical therapy, and the ever-present risk for serious setbacks take a toll on all aspects of Sheila’s life, her grit to go on, her passion for life, and the above-and-beyond love of her “village” of friends encourage everyone she encounters.

Granite City will be donating .25 for every Oktoberfest beer sold along with 20% of any customers who are at the restaurant for The Amputee Coalition. A nation’s leading nonprofit organization on limb loss, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people with limb loss and limb difference and their families, improving patient care and preventing limb loss. Our programs are designed to inform, educate and offer support- empowering each individual on his or her journey to recovery, readjustment and living the life they want to live.
