Rather than have a guest speaker, the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce hosted the Nolensville Area Business Council Luncheon on Thursday like a roundtable session to network instead.

The idea came from feedback from members saying they wished they had more time to network before the speakers presented during normal Chamber meetings.

“All the time we hear from people that we need more networking opportunities,” Williamson, Inc. Director of Member Relations Rebecca Ozols said. “We thought we’d give this a chance and make things more personal for our members and guests.”

The Nolensville Area Business Council hosted the facilitated, casual networking event. Catering was provided by Martin’s Bar-B-Que with sandwiches and chips, and event goers were able to leave their business cards, brochures and product samples at the quarterly meeting for others.

The first half of the event was for casual networking, and then during the second half Ozols had everyone go around and introduce themselves with a microphone and tell the Chamber about what they do.

“I think this was a good idea to host this kind of meeting,” Volunteer Engagement Supervisor for Feed The Children Marci Todd said. “I work in the Nashville area and wanted to connect in Nolensville, so I think this kind of thing over having a speaker actually worked out great.”

Many at the event were from the Nolensville area, but some came from the Nashville region as well as Rutherford County to make an appearance and network.

“I operate in Nashville but do business here, too,” Affiliate Broker with Titan Business Brokers Jana Truman said. “I’m always looking for businesses and small business owners that I can hopefully help and connect with.”

Williamson, Inc. incorporates both the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development, providing access to education, leadership development, relationship-building and up-to-the-minute information about doing business in one of the country’s fastest growing counties.

The Williamson, Inc. luncheon was presented by Williamson Medical Center and sponsored by United Communications. Williamson, Inc. will host another Nolensville Area Business Council Luncheon on Thursday, July 21 at 11:30 a.m. at Providence Baptist Fellowship Church at 1668 Sunset Road.
