Nashville Golf Open

The 3rd Annual Nashville Golf Open is quickly approaching with the first day swinging off on Thursday, May 24th. We recently sat down with Bunny Cothren, Senior Director of Sales, and Charlie Clarkson, Tournament Director to learn more about the NGO.

The Nashville Golf Open (NGO) Benefitting the Snedeker Foundation is 1 of 27 worldwide professional golf tournaments on the Web.com TOUR. The Web.com TOUR, previously the Nationwide Tour and Nike Tour, is owned by the PGA TOUR and is now the only way Pros can earn their card to play on the PGA TOUR level. This 4-day community event is an experience like no other in the Middle Tennessee region. Held at the Nashville Golf & Athletic Club in Brentwood, the NGO hosts 156 professional golfers who all compete for the chance to play on the PGA TOUR.

When the Web.com TOUR decided to expand into the Nashville market in the Fall of 2015, they had the hope that this event would become 1 of their top 5 most highly anticipated tournaments. This means that Bunny, Charlie and their whole team are working to make the NGO a premiere tournament experience for professional golfers and over 20,000 attendees. One of their future goals is to host a PGA TOUR level event, a goal that pushes the team to make each event better than the last.

After the Web.com TOUR set their sights on Nashville, they began looking at different charitable organizations to partner with. They quickly found Brandt Snedeker and the Snedeker Foundation. Brandt is a Nashville native who began his golfing career on the Web.com TOUR. He is an eight-time winner on the PGA TOUR and was the 2012 Fed Ex Cup Champion.

Through working with the Snedeker Foundation, the NGO has expanded its community reach and given more than $175,000 back to its charitable beneficiaries. This year the NGO is also partnering with the Williamson County School System and the Jake Owen Foundation, as Jake will be playing in the Nashville Golf Open, which will help increase their giving back efforts.

The NGO and the charitable donations to our community would not be possible without the help from generous sponsors. The value that you receive from your customized sponsorship is unrivaled. There are limitless opportunities for your company or organization to be recognized during the NGO.

One example would be sponsorship of a Pro-Am Team during the Pro-Am Tournament held on Wednesday, May 23. If you’re looking for a unique way to get your company involved, lace up your golf shoes, grab your clubs and play alongside a PGA TOUR/Web.com TOUR Professional for a day. All-inclusive shared Corporate Hospitality Suite tickets, Private Skyboxes and impactful Signage are other great opportunities.

The team behind NGO really goes above and beyond to make sure that your contribution is truly an investment in this year’s event and those to come. Bunny and Charlie are constantly thinking of innovative and creative ways in which attendees can interact, be seen and be engaged with your brand. If you are interested in NGO sponsorship opportunities this year or have any questions, please reach out to Bunny at bcothren@tourvisionpromotions.com or 615-566-1240.

Along with sponsors, the NGO would not be possible without the help of the day-to-day volunteers who work to ensure that each day goes off without a hitch. Volunteers, of all skill levels, are given access ‘inside the ropes’, meaning that they work hand in hand with the Web.com TOUR team as well as the professional golfers competing. The positions needed to be filled allow volunteers the opportunity to learn more about the sport and gain an inside look into the operations of a professional golf tournament.

If you or anyone you know is interested in learning more about how you can volunteer during the NGO, head to their website at www.ngogolf.com/volunteer. Volunteering is just one way to give back.

If you have any questions or interest in learning more about the NGO, attend our NGO Mixer held on Thursday, May 24 to kick-off the start of the 4-day tournament at the Nashville Golf and Athletic Club. You will have the chance to meet professional players, tour the course and learn more about what goes on behind-the-scenes. If you have any interest in sponsoring the mixer to connect with members in the business community, reach out to Bunny and she will be happy to assist you in finding the right exposure for your business.

To purchase tickets for the NGO, sign up to volunteer, become a sponsor or to learn more go to their website at www.ngogolf.com. You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Be sure to give them a follow for day-of tournament updates. We hope to see you all at our NGO Mixer to help celebrate the start of the 3rd Annual NGO!
