The outdoor summer music celebration returns on June 26

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — The Battle of Franklin Trust has announced the dates and lineup for its annual Sunset Concert Series, a family-friendly, summer tradition providing monthly outdoor concerts on the east lawn of Carnton Plantation. This year’s schedule includes a variety of musical styles:

 Sunday, June 26: Zippy’s Clutch (Early Rock n’ Roll)
 Sunday, July 31: Resurrection: A Journey Tribute
 Sunday, August 28: Chris Weaver Band (Motown/Country)

“The Sunset Concert Series offers a unique experience for guests,” said Eric A. Jacobson, CEO of The Battle of Franklin Trust. “Summers at Carnton Plantation are very special and adding live music to the Southern plantation backdrop creates a relaxing, family event for all music lovers to enjoy.”

Event gates open at 5 p.m. and concerts take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Guests are invited to arrive early to set up chairs, blankets and picnics on the east lawn. Food and beverage, including alcohol is permitted, and additional food and drinks will be available for purchase. Pets, tents and grills are not allowed. Parking is free and available on site. Tickets may be purchased ahead of time at Carnton Plantation or The Carter House, as well as online at www.boft.org.

The Sunset Concert Series is presented by Vanderbilt Medical Center; Franklin Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram; Toyota of Cool Springs; Southern Events Rental Company; People State Bank of Commerce; Graphitti Sign and Graphic Studio; Red Dog Wine and Spirits and Lipman Brothers.

The Battle of Franklin Trust is a 501(c)3 management corporation acting on behalf of Franklin’s battlefield sites to contribute to visitors’ understanding of the November 30, 1864 Battle of Franklin. The Trust is organized for the charitable and educational purposes of preserving, restoring, maintaining and interpreting the properties, artifacts and documents related to the battle to preserve this important part of the nation’s history.
